Mario Landau-Holdsworth is an investor, engineer, and entrepreneur specializing in renewable energy projects, with a focus on energy efficiency, energy storage, EVs, and smart grid. As founder and CEO of EverCharge (2009-2014) he invented and commercialised the first smart electric vehicle (EV) charging solution for condo and apartment buildings, which is now used in thousands of locations around the US. In 2022, EverCharge was acquired by SK E&S for $300M.
He holds multiple US and international utility patents for energy management systems, grid, and EV technologies. He has a B.A. in Economics from Lewis & Clark College.
Amber Case is a leading expert on the intersection of humans and technology. She has made significant contributions to the fields of technology, privacy, and location-based services through her entrepreneurial ventures and research.
Case co-founded EverCharge (acquired 2022), the first smart electric vehicle (EV) charging solution for condo and apartment buildings, and Geoloqi (acquired 2012), a pioneering location-based software company later acquired by Esri. She holds various patents related to privacy, location, and electrical vehicle charging, highlighting her innovative work in these areas.
Case’s research career includes fellowships at MIT’s Center for Civic Media and Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, and The Mozilla Foundation. She was granted a Claude Shannon Innovation Award from Bell Labs in 2016 and served on the board and finance committee of Lewis & Clark College. She is currently an advisor at BlockScience, a complex systems engineering firm.
History
HCH Investments was started in 2015 by Mario Landau-Holdsworth and Amber Case, co-founders of EverCharge, as a holding company for their own shares. After the EverCharge exit in 2022, the company transitioned into a privately held investment company, which makes strategic early to mid stage investments in the industry’s most promising startups.
